Porridge Papers held their annual "Love on the Run" event last Valentine's Day weekend. And if vintage typewriters and tiny messages in bottles don't get you twitterpated with their handmade paper, maybe the fact that their own employees and volunteers hand-deliver love notes on Valentine's Day will win your devotion.
The 3rd Annual "Love on the Run" Porridge Papers event was a Valentine's Day party! And a love note to Lincolnites. Show up to their green painted brick storefront on South Street in the days prior to Valentine's Day, type a small love note on one of these typewriters, roll it up, and put it in a tiny message bottle. They deliver it in a hand-made box made of paper with seeds in the fibers. So after the love note is read and properly loved, the box can be planted. Love can grow!

While eating veggies and cookies and looking up the address of the person to whom I was sending my message, I got to talking with an employee who was saying she was very prepared for this year's deliveries. Last year, it snowed heavily while she biked to make her message deliveries. Obviously, Porridge Papers chose a great candidate to work in their stores if they could find someone to lovingly bike their hand-made product to the doorsteps of their recipients.
Chances are, you have seen Porridge Papers in collaboration with other local businesses. At Earth Day last year, A to Z printing used their papers to print their business cards. At Pepe's Vegetarian Bistro, Screen Ink's screen-printed poster is printed on Porridge Paper. Loads of other local businesses have sought out their paper knowing they are getting the best local product possible.
