We like bikes. We buy them, break them, fix them, ride them, and break them. Then, we fix them. And buy them. And reuse parts, and swap.

There is a very nice straw bale tavern north of O'Neill Nebraska. The builders made nice use of wood from local trees as well.

Prairie Fire: Cranes in Nebraska

This weekend, I visited the Rowe Sanctuary, and I loved the experience.

But this month's cover story of the Prairie Fire, I thought, does more than due justice to the cranes, the organization behind their survival, and the partnerships that thrive in the sanctuary itself (please click the image):

Hi Andrea,
I've been hearing so many good things about this networking group that I decided to join! I am with a brand new non-profit group in lincoln called "Think Green Consulting." Our mission is to show businesses and individuals how to "Think Green" in their everyday activities and at the same time save money. We have a FREE business after hours at our office on Nov 19th from 5:00-6:00pm and we welcome all members of the community to come check us out. I have posted our event but I am wondering if you might have any other suggestions to get everybody's attention. I appreciate your help!!! *Heather*

Hi Andrea. It was good to meet you this afternoon. You mentioned a sign up for bike commuters? Here on this site?

I will have to look into the geocaching info. My son thought that might be fun to do.

We had a great event...9 High School students joined us on Friday to help put in the community garden. We had 17 participants, eleven of which want to do the full permaculture certification. (We ALMOST covered costs, too!)

No worries--I just joined it yesterday when I read your message.

And even more irony for you--guess who bought that last cultiva cup? That's right! And Re-Cycled can get those cup holders, too. They're an Electra product, around $18 if I remember correctly. But to be honest, they don't work as well as I had hoped--the cup can bounce around a little, and if it's very full, it'll spill on you while you're riding...

Hi Andrea -
Have you thought of getting a booth for Lincoln Green Scene at Earth Day?
I was thinking if you got a few people to volunteer at the booth with lap tops, people at Earth Day could stop by and set up a profile. Just a thought...
