Last year, Lincoln cut library hours to help balance its budget.

This year, the Library Board of Trustees again is discussing the possibility of closing the Bethany and South branch libraries.

The library budget could be decreasing by around $675,000 this year, said Pat Leach, director of Lincoln City Libraries.

Cuts made in previous years — including shorter hours — “make us have to… Continue

Activists Place Homeless in Vacant Homes

The Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign is doing the most unthinkable and revolutionary work to address the homeless population. This organization is placing the homeless into vacant and/or foreclosed houses. This reminds of the idea of doing what works best for people no matter what dominate social opinions would say about it. Because of this organization people who would be living on the cold streets currently live in warm houses. What’s your opinion of this? Is this an example of the… Continue

Hi Adam,

The event went really well. There were over 25 people and a lot of good discussion. We are going to send out an e-mail with some pictures soon.

The steering group has been discussing changing the location to accommodate different audiences & locations in Lincoln. We would love to schedule something at the Meadowlark. Right now we have two weekends every month until April booked out at Indigo Bridge. Who should I talk to about getting a date at the Meadowlark?

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

You know, someday Iris will understand what we are doing, and how great it is, or maybe she'll just rebel, sneak out, or become a nun. Either way what you're doing is wonderful, and I'm glad to help.
