Lincoln Green Scene

Lincoln, NE: sharing what "green" we have to attract what we lack.

Ok, two geocache locations. I intend to add them to a geocaching website, too.

Geocache One: 40.754636 N, 96.714635 W

Geocache Two: 40.787504 N, 96.724264 W

The ethics of geocaching are that you leave the containers where they have been marked here. Each contains little treasures, a notebook, and a pencil. Note when you found it and some kind of cool commentary about your ride, take the treasures, leave new treasures.

If you decide to drop some new geocaches yourself, please leave us the coordinates here. :)

Here is a video about the process...maybe you will see some clues about where they are! http://lincolngreenscene.ning.com/video/geocaching-on-lincoln-trails

Enjoy!

That is supercool.

In my hood too ;)

How are you getting those coordinates?

I downloaded a GPS on the iphone, brother. But the one I used sucked major battery. Maybe you are using an awesomer one?

But soon, I'll add the coordinates to a Google map that people can contribute to, so that if you like doing this, you can stash one and mark it and people can see it with their own devices.

The GPS I downloaded allowed me to take pics along the way, and I should, at some point, be able to email myself the route and post to Google maps, too.

Wanna share GPS rides?

Hey, here's a video that might give you visual clues about where these coordinates are located. :)

Andrea - I don't have a GPS unit. But I suppose if I had a cache to hide, I could use Google or another mapping site to find coordinates for a spot on the North side of town. Maybe the coordinates wouldn't be exact enough, I don't know, for someone to find. If it would work, I'll try to watch you're "how to" video again and do a couple of my own. I'll have to work on my stamina before making the trek to that part of town to look for your caches!

Cool! My daughter has been involved in a GeoCaching club at school this year. I will check with the leader to see if we could maybe borrow some of the GPS equipment to fin these. There is one by The Mill that she also wants to find.
