I think that this is great! However, I do not have the start up money to do it. I hope it will continue for the next couple years.

Oh, Anne, I completely understand. I also need to start a discussion about whether people have successfully re-financed locally. Maybe this is a way people can free up some funds this year.

AND, I haven't found a searchable .pdf for the stimulus yet so we can see which items last multiple years, but the car, for instance, is going to HAVE to. They don't have a good electrical hybrid yet for the stimulus...it seems that part of the deal is to phase out a credit for buying the Prius for example and phasing in the Chevy Volt, but it's not due out until 2010.

Windows! Hurray, I've been waiting to see if there would be any tax incentives under Obama because my 70 year old home has more frost on the inside of the windows in the winter than the outside. A $1500 tax credit will give me a leg up on total replacement. Local window company anyone?

Oh, and I should mention, if anyone is looking to take advantage of the heat pump credit, I recommend Capitol Heating and Air. They installed ours a couple of years ago (the savings in our heating bill has been unbelievable), their pricing is reasonable, and they provide great service
