Lincoln Green Scene

Lincoln, NE: sharing what "green" we have to attract what we lack.

What a GREAT website!! I was intrigued when I got the invite, now I'm hooked!

Garen and I started STAR CITY RECYCLING a little over 5 years ago. Garen was a busy business man and our recycling would pile up the garage wall before we could get it to the drop off sites. One day he had had enough with the rat race and that's when STAR CITY RECYCLING was born.

We were sitting at Chuck E. Cheese and I asked him what he wanted to do more than anything else and he said, "Recycle". And here we are. A mere 5 years later we have several trucks, several employees and even in this economic downturn we are continuing to grow.

We decided to do business a little differently. We are not driven by what commodities are doing. We are driven by what can be recycled. Some companies will not recycle glass because you can't make money off of it. We think that is a tragedy. Glass takes 1,000,000 years to decompose. It's IMPORTANT to recycle glass... That's why we are constantly adding things to recycle. (For a full list visit our website at www.starcityrecycling.info )

I am continually inspired by the people we meet in our business. This website is an inspiration... And we had a customer put her account on hold for the winter - she was over 90 years old!!!! That humbles me...

You are definitely my fav recycling company in town. I am shocked when I see the long list of things other companies don't take. Do you pick up for businesses too?

We do a lot of small businesses - the pricing is different for each business because every business has different needs.
