Lincoln Green Scene

Lincoln, NE: sharing what "green" we have to attract what we lack.

Don't forget that Lincoln Earth Day is today, Sunday, April 20th!

Lincoln Green Scene will have a booth today at the location near the Sheldon Art Gallery. The set-up for the event is very similar to "Jazz in June," where they block off a small section of street by the Ross Theater and the Sheldon Art Gallery on campus.

Check out the link for Lincoln Earth Day 2009 and click on "Schedule" to see the speakers, performers, and demonstrations happening between 1 and 4pm.

If you would like a t-shirt for Lincoln Green Scene, bring a used t-shirt to our booth and I'd be happy to screen it for free. If you would like one of Screen, Ink's great t-shirts, made with ecologically responsible materials, you can buy one at his booth and come visit us at our booth for screening.

If you have a bunch of old t-shirts that you think could be renewed with our logo to give away, please feel free to donate t-shirts to us. It would be a fun way to re-use and promote our very social group of greenies. :)

See you there!

Also, don't forget that this evening, Suzy Schulz will be presenting “An Inconvenient Truth" at the Q on 9th St. Suzy is one of only about 2000 people trained by Vice President Al Gore to get the message out about climate change. And this May, Suzy will be meeting with Vice President Gore once more to gain additional training.

The Q did a waste audit with Waste Cap earlier this week, and the owners were enthusiastic and open to suggestions about how to further conserve energy in their business. It was really great to see Waste Cap in action, and a local business happy to ask them to help. I will be blogging a little more about the experience later this week as UNL continues Earth Day efforts with their "Focus the Nation" events.

I hope to see you there this evening after the downtown festivities!
