Lincoln Green Scene

Lincoln, NE: sharing what "green" we have to attract what we lack.

Folks,

I don't give out alerts very often, but this will be the biggest opportunity for a significant policy impact this entire year. LB 960 is scheduled for public hearing at the capital at 1:30 on Friday Jan 29. Likely the bill will not be heard until 2:30.

It is vital if we are to counterweigh the lobbyists that folks send e-mails to the Natural Resource Committee and their senators to support LB 960, Sen Haar from Lincoln is already on board. Even better, show up and speak your peace about poor policy limiting our ability to interconnect more significant green energy systems. Bill Synopsis is below:

"LB960: Introduced bill to amend state statute on net metering that would establish two different classes of net metering users - those that net metering in a residential zoned district, and everyone else. Those that are in a residential area would remain at the 25kW limit set forth in last years bill, but LB960 would also raise the limit for "everyone else" to 125kW."

This is a big deal for decntralized green energy production in the state, please make your voice heard!!!

State senators on the Natural Resources Committee can be found on the right side column here: http://news.legislature.ne.gov/nat/

Make sure to email them in support of raising your net metering potential to reward conservation efforts of individuals!

Anything else we should add, Robert?

Simple and sweet to Support LB 960 is great

Expand net metering for farms and business so we can access the resources and credits that are available!

Thanks,

In person testimony will be timed but it will be a fun hearing. They are starting with the bill at 1:30 in room 1525.

Please send e-mail or call if you support expanded citizen green energy production opportunities

Awesome, Robert.

Also, this was passed to me by Dennis Keim (I'll post for him here since he was kind enough to think of us and send it along):
